The Cahul District Council informs you about the increased risk of the spread of avian influenza (H5N1), recently confirmed in several European countries and among wild birds.

During the wild bird migration period, the risk of introduction and spread of the virus on the territory of the Republic of Moldova is increasing.

o prevent possible outbreaks, we kindly ask citizens to follow these recommendations:

• Keep domestic birds inside household premises and avoid taking them to grazing areas, near lakes, rivers, or other places frequented by wild birds.

• Limit any direct or indirect contact between domestic birds and wild birds.

• Immediately inform the veterinarian or local authorities if you observe any signs of illness or suspicious mortality among domestic birds.
