Today, at the headquarters of the Cahul District Council, the official launch of the “History Joins Us” project took place. The project is implemented within the INTERREG NEXT Romania–Republic of Moldova 2021–2027 Programme and is carried out in partnership with the Galați County Council and the Association for Cross-Border Cooperation “Lower Danube Euroregion.” Its objective is to promote and valorize the shared cultural and historical heritage of the two regions.
The event was attended by Mr. Mitică Sandu, Vice President of Galați County, together with members of the project team from Galați; Mr. Pavel Groza, President of the Cahul District; as well as Mrs. Tatiana Seredenco and Mr. Nicon Pîslari, Vice Presidents of the Cahul District. Also present were project partners from the Association for Cross-Border Cooperation “Lower Danube Euroregion” and representatives of cultural institutions from the district.
The project aims to promote cultural heritage through joint activities, including the organization of 13 cultural events, history lessons, cross-border forums, craft festivals, and promotional visits that will contribute to the development of a future joint tourist route.
As a project partner, the Cahul District Council reaffirms its commitment to strengthening cross-border relations, promoting local culture, and ensuring the community’s access to events that highlight shared history and identity.
